Empowerment & Commentary
Through the kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the founder of the New Kadampa Tradition IKBU, teachings on Modern Buddhism came to North Carolina some 18 years ago. Through his continuing kindness and blessings this new Kadampa Meditation Center dedicated to World Peace has arisen. With this beautiful new Center, the teachings of Buddha on Compassion and Wisdom are now accessible to many more people in Charlotte and the whole of North Carolina. You are invited to these two days of teachings and meditations to celebrate this profound vision for creating peace in our modern world.
During this weekend event, Gen-la Kelsang Jampa, Deputy Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU, will open this new building of the Kadampa Meditation Center of North Carolina and grant the Blessing Empowerment of Medicine Buddha. He will give teachings for people of the modern world on the practice of Medicine Buddha, and on how Wisdom Solves Our Problems.
What is a Blessing Empowerment? An empowerment is a ritual ceremony and guided blissful meditation through which we receive special blessings that heal our mental continuum and awaken our Buddha nature.
