The Kadampa Meditation Center North Carolina (KMC NC) is a member of an international family of more than 1200 Buddhist Centers in more than 40 countries throughout the world, known as the New Kadampa Tradition or NKT. The founder of NKT is the internationally renowned Buddhist scholar, teacher, and author, Ven Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
New Kadampa Buddhism is a special presentation of Buddha’s teachings designed especially for the people of the modern world. All the practices come from Buddha Shakyamuni and have been preserved over 2500 years by an unbroken lineage of fully realized teachers.
Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s presentation retains all the meanings and insights of Buddha’s original teachings, in a way that is accessible and suitable for anyone to practice in the modern-day.
