Start the New Year off with a peaceful mind
One of the big frustrations many people come up against in life is the process of changing. As a culture we’re all about making new year’s resolutions and aspiring to be better. Usually for a week or two, our change goes well. Then the inevitable “slide back” happens, often just a few days after announcing to everyone how much we’ve changed!
When it comes to change, the Buddhist point of view is incredibly optimistic. Buddha explained that the reason we find ourselves stuck in limiting patterns of behavior is because we grasp at our nature as fixed and unchanging.
Eventually we will discover through meditation that positive change, and even profound change, is in our very nature and that we can absolutely direct ourselves towards becoming the person we wish to be.
