Followed by Outdoor Meditation & Community Potluck!
Get your walking shoes on and come out for a walk in beautiful McDowell Nature Preserve to help support an inspiring Center for World Peace at Kadampa Meditation Center North Carolina in Charlotte (KMC North Carolina). Our first annual Walk for World Peace is about community coming together with friends and family in order to fulfill our vision of continued growth of KMC North Carolina to benefit this and future generations.
By participating in the Walk for World Peace and getting sponsors, you are contributing directly to world peace by helping with improvements at our Kadampa Meditation Center for World Peace in Charlotte, North Carolina. Specifically, we will be renovating the temple recently purchased located on East Boulevard. This temple will function as a beacon for peace in the South East and an oasis of calm and retreat for all – Buddhist and non-Buddhist alike.
We have the power to change by understanding and transforming our mind—the impact of learning to develop inner peace is universal from our local to global communities. This Temple serves our mission to bring more peace and happiness to the people of Charlotte through meditation and modern Buddhism – “World Peace through Inner Peace.”
Our goal is to raise $1,500 from this event and have at least 30 people participate in the walk.
Journey alongside lay and ordained members of Kadampa Meditation Center North Carolina, their friends and family, and residents of the local Charlotte communities. Walkers are encouraged if possible to get their family and friends to sponsor them, thereby contributing to world peace through this meaningful project.
